Read MoreIt all began with analogue computation back in the last century, with circuits featuring anode-cathode valves. Before that, there was the German Z-1 computer that used relays. Speaking of valves, I used to love peering at the back of our old Colorado brand black-and-white TV, which my grandfather bought to watch the FIFA World Cup in 1978, unfortunately won by the Argentineans.
